John 3:16

“For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

  • Church Membership: Voice of Hope Deliverance Church, Philadelphia, PA

  • Mother Covington’s Background: Philadelphia resident who was raised Methodist and converted to Pentecostal, has been an active member on the Mother’s Board at Voice of Hope Deliverance Church through her ministry of Evangelism for well over forty-three years.

  •  Mother Covington’s Testimony: I realized she had a Calling on her life to tell people Jesus loves them and would come into their hearts as in Revelations 3 “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him.” Christ has been planted in her heart since 1976. She’s never regretted what Christ has done for her and the love He has for world.

  • Mother Covington’s Reflections: God says I am to treat everyone with love, even my enemies. That’s a tough walk. That’s why I must stay prayed up to continue to keep the victory while God is still working on me.

  • Mother Covington’s Observations: I have compassion for people who are just coming to Christ needing healing and deliverance. The world can be cruel and I’ve learned people develop defensive attitudes and behaviors to protect themselves from being hurt.

  • Mother Covington’s Challenges: I’m surprised that at seventy-four, I’m still struggling in my walk with the Lord. Ministry can be challenging because you think when you give love, you will receive love in return, but be prepared for some rejection. People aren’t immediately delivered from their old ways.

  • Mother Covington’s Greatest Accomplishments: One of my greatest accomplishments has been leading others to Christ. I will evangelize anywhere at any time: on the bus or at my front door. It doesn't matter because I have to let others know Christ is the key to opening your heart. I am active on the Mother’s Board and we meet monthly to cover the church and God’s people with prayer. Where we use to call each other to talk, we now have genuine concern and call each other to check on everyone’s well-being.
